I really love football. It may well be the greatest sport on earth, just saying.
I also really love the Denver Broncos.
I have been a Broncos fan for as long as I can remember — maybe from birth. My first NFL game was at the original Mile High Stadium in the nosebleed section, and I was one ecstatic girl. As a college student, it was a dream come true to work at the Broncos training camp for a couple of summers {thanks to my dear friend}. It was fun basking in the Broncomania of back-to-back Super Bowl championships.
Still, there’s nothing quite as thrilling as cheering your team on to victory and witnessing them athletically dominate in a competitive sport. After moving from Colorado, I made a point of catching a Broncos game live whenever they played in a city near me {and tickets were available}. Otherwise, I devotedly watched them on television.
It’s certainly easy to jump on any team’s bandwagon when they’re having a winning season. But it’s the tough times, the re-building years and disappointing losses that make all the difference between a fair-weathered and die-hard fan. I have {orange} crushed the Broncos through Lombardi trophies, tragic Super Bowl losses, Elway and Reeves, Shanahan, Davis and the Mile High Salute, Tebow Time and today’s Manning era. The Broncos are my team.
So you know where I’ll be this Sunday: rooting for my team as they tackle Brady and the New England Patriots before advancing to Super Bowl 50. For my fellow Denver fans, here’s a Broncos Ultimate Fan Word Search. Feel free to download, print and use as entertainment for your football party. Let’s Go Broncos! — v.
