My Denver Broncos are playing in the Super Bowl!
Have I mentioned that I love football, and more specifically, the Denver Broncos? Maybe just a line or two in a previous post? Well, friends, I am beyond excited to root for my team on its quest for another Super Bowl championship! #gobroncos
If you’re still working out a game plan for Sunday, try one of my favorite Super Bowl traditions and make this delicious chili to enjoy with the big game.
The great thing about this chili is that you can make it the day before — or even the morning of — game day. Just pop it into a slow cooker and it’s piping hot and ready to eat come game time. Put out an assortment of delicious toppings — sour cream, chives, shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese, crispy tortilla strips, crackers, sliced jalapenos — and some quality sides so folks can serve themselves. ‘Cause at my house, you’re on your own after the opening kick!
Here are a few ideas for tasty sides and refreshing beverages to serve alongside V’s Super Bowl Chili:
- Homemade cornbread
- 7-layer dip + chips
- Football ice cream sandwiches
- Snack foods like popcorn, peanuts or puppy chow
- Sweet iced tea, cold brews and juice boxes
As a bonus, you can whip up some Fritos Chili Pies!
Just add a couple spoonfuls of chili and choice toppings to snack bags of Fritos Corn Chips and enjoy right out of the bag with a spoon for some fun game-day fare. (Kinda reminds me of my high school days at the 7-Eleven hot dog bar — but waaay tastier!)
So even if you’re only tuning in to watch the multi-million-dollar commercials and splashy halftime show, you’ll enjoy it all the more with a comforting bowl of chili piled high with awesome toppings.
And don’t forget to print out this Broncos Ultimate Fan Word Search for some pre-game fun with your friends, too! Enjoy! — v.

Sure wish we still had the Boot… this will do for food in its absence. And Cheetos puffs with Miller High Life. :)
